On Friday night we attended the "A Chair Affair" fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester. My boss's wife is a member of the board for the organization and he was nice enough to give two tickets for Annah and I to attend the dinner and auction.
Each ticket cost $75 and it was nice to socialize with other people from the community, see some interesting works of art, and eat some delicious food which I believe was catered by the Canadian Honker. We were lucky enough to "win" the tropical flower centerpiece (see the picture on the right) at our table for a ten dollar donation. We had a good time but ended up leaving before the live auction concluded at nine since it seemed like it was going to last for another couple of hours. It was a fun event and I am glad that Annah and I were able to attend.
On Saturday we went and looked at an apartment at Quarry Ridge Apartments and it was nice to start looking, although I don't think that we will be getting an apartment at least for a few more months, but it was fun. We then went shopping at the Good Food Store, where we were looking for bulk alfalfa seeds, which we were not able to find, but we were able to find some goodies there. We also went shopping at the Asian Food Store on Broadway where we bought some bean sprouts, canned rambutan, canned mangosteen, canned lychee, and hibiscus flower nectar. I always love trying new things and Annah does too if they aren't too strange! We also took my (parent's) dog for a walk behind Mayo, which was fun. We then watched an episode of House, M.D., since we missed a few episodes when they were on.
Sunday we took Lucy for another walk, but this time it was at Quarry Hill and it was so nice to get outside and go for a long walk/hike with my love and with my dog. We also went to Fish & Pets where Annah purchased a new blue beta fish with her gift card that she got for her birthday. After that we had dinner at my house with my sister, twin nieces, and great aunt. It was fun. We also watched a little bit of The Oscars before Annah had to head back to Austin.
It was indeed another great weekend and we hope for many more in the future!
Another Great Weekend!

Wednesday Night Dinner and Lunar Eclipse
Thursday, February 21, 2008
Annah came back to Rochester to see me since I had been feeling ill since Sunday night. We had Goulash (not truly "goulash", but that's what we call it... it has canned tomatoes, hamburger, onions, macaroni pasta, etc) with crackers, olives, and pepperoncini (which Annah found out she doesn't like too much!)
We also had a discussion about how I hold my spoon incorrectly, and my dad hadn't really noticed it before, so everyone was amused by my brutish technique. Therefore, it is my goal to hold my spoon correctly, even if the contents that I'm eating are too heavy. I'm not sure when exactly I started holding my spoon incorrectly, but perhaps I've been doing that my whole life. I'm happy that it has been brought to my attention though since I will be able to look more sophisticated and normal by holding my spoon correctly.
We also went to Prairie Walls rock climbing wall so that Annah could pick up her money and w-2. We visited for a while with some of her friends and had a delightful time.
We then randomly drove to Home Depot and bought a lovely little African Violet (Saintpaulia ionantha and worked very diligently to keep it warm so that it didn't freeze in the arctic freeze outside. I also bought a little container with seeds to grow alfalfa and mung bean sprouts in for sandwiches and stuff. Woot.
Following our excursions, we came back home and intermittently checked on the status of the Lunar Eclipse that took place. It was cool to see it with Annah. It could have been a little warmer though, but there will be more eclipses in the future. Yay!
Overall, it was a wonderful Wednesday night that we got to spend with each other!

Love, Anniversaries & Celebrations
Monday, February 18, 2008
Our Valentines Day celebration consisted of making a papa murphy's heart shaped pizza that barely fit in my small oven, eating apple cut-out apples and having a great time together. Jordan gave me roses with a little bear attached to the vase (very cute!!). After a very good dinner, we hung out and fell asleep at 8:10 for what we thought was going to be a 10 minute nap turned into a 2 hour nap! At 10:10 when we both woke up, we watched a few episodes of "Mad About You" then went to bed.
Saturday morning, Jordan made pancakes with chocolate chips inside. He is a good cook!! We hung out until noon and then we went our separate ways, for the first weekend since we started going out. Jordan went home to Rochester and ended up going to visit his trailer in Pepin, WI and then finished the night off with going to Treasure Island Resort & Casino. I, in the meantime headed up to the cities for my cousin's wedding shower. Ate some really good food and had a great time, afterwards went to my grandparents house where I got to spend time with my all-time favorite aunt, Aunt Kathleen (my mom's sister). That night we all celebrated my grandma's 91st birthday and my 23rd birthday!
5 month anniversary!! Sunday morning, I had some lovely conversations with my grandparents and aunt over breakfast then left shortly after breakfast to go home to Rochester to see Jordan! Jordan met me at my house where we hung out for a while and played with the kitties. Then we went to a movie, 27 dresses. It was a pretty good movie. After that, we went to Lowes. The place I was really looking forward to was our visit to Pet Smart, where I bought two new critters (hermit crabs). I spent a fortune on these two little crabs with supplies and all. In honor of being together for 5 months, Jordan and I went to the "most romantic restaurant in Rochester", the Redwood Room. Micah Wetzel was playing at the Redwood Room. Micah graduated high school with Jordan and I knew Micah from band and Korean culture camp. The time had come for me to depart from my loved one and go back to Austin...until next weekend...

Birthday weekend
Monday, February 11, 2008
Friday: Annah's 23rd birthday!! A week earlier, Annah said that she wanted to take a day off of work to lay around in her pajamas, watch movies and eat junk food. Annah's wish came true but she was home sick with strep throat- (be careful what you wish for). While Annah lounged around all day, Jordan was busy working and making money. After Jordan was done with work, Annah met him at his house and we took a nap together before dinner. Dinner consisted of yummy home-made mac & cheese at Annah's house and a big M&M cookie!
Saturday: We hung out at Jordan's house, went shopping for a while, and then had dinner at his house where we had scallops wrapped in prosciutto, steak, vegetables, and bread. We then started the movie Groundhog's Day but we were too tired to finish it and fell asleep.
Sunday: Jordan and I saw the movie, Juno. We ate popcorn and drank a cherry-coke during the movie. The music in the movie was so good, that afterwards we went to Best Buy and bought the soundtrack. We went to Home Depot and Lowes then decided to eat at our newly found favorite restaurant, Noodles 'n Company. After dinner, we went back to my parents house to collect my belongings, then I dropped Jordan off at his house. It was a wonderful weekend and we talked about many things and both agree that we're both happy that we're together!

To Boldly Go...to Linder's Plant Store and the "Super Bowl" Superbowl Party!
Monday, February 04, 2008
Last Friday evening Annah and I attended a concert entitled "To Boldly Go" (info here) which featured the Minnesota Orchestra and was performed at Orchestra Hall. Our good friend Carmen was gracious enough to invite us along to the event and it was awesome. Prior to dinner we ate at a very luxurious restaurant called Vincent A Restaurant where we were able to dine and have some delicious food and visit with Carmen's friends. At the concert, the Orchestra played Gustav Holst's "Mercury", "Mars", and "Jupiter" from his famous Planets, and they also played the themes from Star Trek, Star Wars, and other sci-fi movies/tv shows. It was a lot of fun since I'm a "Trekkie" of sorts and both Annah and I like classical music! After the concert we went out for drinks at Brit's Pub which was right across the street from Orchestra Hall. Following a good time there we went out to yet another place called Little Tijuana Restaurant...for some mini tacos and fried ice cream at about 2 am. We had an awesome time but we were exhausted by the time we crashed at Carmen's place.
On Saturday we came back to Rochester and hung out and watched the movie Ratatouille which was very lovely.
On Sunday we then drove back up to the cities and went to Linder's Garden Center, where I had never been before..but Annah had...and it is a very nice store with a great selection of plants. After shopping there we headed to Annah's Grandparent's house were they had their annual "Super Bowl" Superbowl Party where we eat soup out of very large (gigantic) bowls while we watched the Superbowl. Annah and I both had a wonderful time!
It was another incredible weekend and congratulations to the New York Giants for beating the New England Patriots in the Superbowl!
Additionally, I would like to thank Annah for a lovely weekend! ^_^
